Common Questions

How much does wisdom teeth removal cost?

Simple extractions start from $250-$400. Surgical removal of impacted teeth ranges from $400-$600+. Sedation or hospital costs are additional. We provide a full written quote after assessing your x-rays.

Do I need to be asleep for wisdom teeth removal?

Not necessarily, but it is an option. Simple removals can be done with local anesthesia. For anxious patients or complex cases, we offer 'happy gas' or IV sedation (sleep dentistry) so you are completely relaxed.

How long is the recovery time?

Most patients return to normal activities within 3-5 days. You may have swelling for the first 48 hours. We provide comprehensive aftercare instructions and pain management to ensure a smooth recovery.

When should I have my wisdom teeth removed?

Ideally in late teens or early 20s (17-25) when roots are not fully formed, making removal easier and recovery faster. However, we can safely remove them at any age if they cause issues.

What are the signs of an impacted wisdom tooth?

Symptoms include jaw pain, red/swollen gums, difficulty opening your mouth, or bad breath. Sometimes there are no symptoms even if damage is occurring, which is why x-ray screening is vital.

Can I drive home after the procedure?

If you have local anesthesia or happy gas, you can usually drive. If you have IV sedation, you cannot drive for 24 hours and must have a responsible adult take you home. We will advise you based on your sedation choice.
