The Arete New Patient Experience
Your first visit to Arete is designed to be thorough and unhurried. The New Patient Experience ($249 for adults, $149 for children) includes full series photography, cancer and gum screening, airway and jaw assessment, all required X-rays, a detailed findings review, and a professional scale, polish and fluoride.
We take extra time to understand your dental history, concerns and goals. Everything is explained in clear, non-technical language. If we identify areas that need attention, we discuss options, priorities and costs together — including what happens if you choose to wait.

Based on current pricing, the Arete New Patient Experience is $249 for adults and $149 for children. Short problem-focused consultations start from $85 (30 minutes) and extended consultations are $149 (60 minutes). We accept all major Australian health funds and process claims on the spot. CDBS bulk billing is available for eligible children. Costs for individual treatments such as fillings, crowns and root canals vary — we provide clear estimates before any treatment begins. All cases vary.

How much does a dental check-up cost at Arete?
Based on current pricing, the Arete New Patient Experience is $249 for adults, which includes full photography, cancer and gum screening, airway and jaw assessment, all required X-rays, detailed findings review, scale, polish and fluoride. Children's new patient visits are $149. We accept all major health funds. All cases vary.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes. We accept all major Australian health funds and process claims on the spot with our HICAPS terminal. We are preferred providers for NIB, CBHS and Smile.com.au, and accept 20+ other major funds.
What general dental services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive check-ups, professional cleans, dental fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal therapy, wisdom teeth removal, children's dentistry, emergency dental care, sleep apnoea appliances and preventative care — all under one roof.
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
Yes. We reserve same-day appointment slots for dental emergencies including toothache, broken teeth, lost fillings and dental trauma. Call 07 3733 3233 for urgent bookings.
Are your fillings mercury-free?
Yes. Arete Dental Studio is a mercury-free practice. We exclusively use tooth-coloured, BPA-free composite resins. We do not place amalgam fillings and offer safe amalgam removal for patients wanting to replace old silver fillings.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We welcome children of all ages and offer age-appropriate dental care. We bulk-bill eligible children under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), covering up to $1,095 in dental services over two years.
What is the difference between a short and long consultation?
A short consultation ($85, 30 minutes) is a problem-focused exam for specific concerns with X-rays and a treatment estimate. A long consultation ($149, 60 minutes) is an extended examination with comprehensive treatment planning, photographs and digital records.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer DentiCare interest-free direct debit plans (3–24 months), Afterpay (4 interest-free payments), Zip Pay/Zip Money, and can assist with superannuation release for eligible cases.
What preventative care do you recommend?
We recommend six-monthly check-ups and professional cleans, daily brushing and flossing, fissure sealants for children's molars, fluoride treatments where appropriate, and dietary advice to reduce decay risk.
